Ice cream is the perfect holiday food. It makes me feel like it is summer and helps cool things down in the muggy Brisbane heat. My favourite is always a dark chocolate. Maggie Beer’s dark chocolate and orange ice cream is a guilty treat (it’s rich). What’s your favourite flavour?
Good ice cream is rich and creamy. There are two different ways to make ice cream – one is custard based, the other is egg enriched. Italian ice cream is custard based, and usually contains fresh fruit juices. The regulations prohibit anything except natural sweeteners in their gelati di cream.
