Chocolate and vanilla semifreddo – Angela Harnett

About

Italian: semifreddo

Semifreddo loosely means ‘a bit cold’ and can refer to any partially frozen dessert.

The best semifreddo recipe is Angela Hartnett’s chocolate and vanilla semifreddo, passed down through her family as featured in The Observer’s Top 50 favourite recipes.

A lovely semifreddo is enhanced when served with a silky chocolate ganache. To make, bring 1 cup of cream slowly to the boil before turning off the hear. Stir in 340g chocolate callets until you have a thick and glossy chocolate mixture. Drizzle on your semifreddo while still warm.
