Shipping container houses

The video shows Lulu’s tiny home in California – a recycled shipping container with an attached cargo trailer bedroom.  Lulu is a single mom who had gone back to school and didn’t have the time or interest in working full-time to pay for rent. So when she had to move out of her more conventional home, she decided to move herself and her daughter into a shipping container. The container has been modified with recycled and reclaimed materials.

I love the idea of living in a recycled shipping container. I’d love one for my office.

Would you live in one?

  1. With the ever constant cost of real-estate on the rise it is becoming an increasingly popular option to use shipping containers as a home. I am very interested to see how the result of the greenhouse being connected to the shipping container would have appeared, as we have seen some very stylish designs of shipping containers modified into houses, and the capabilities are endless. We have seen examples of shipping containers built upwards to create magnificent affordability in design but still very stylish. Another cost effective solution to shipping containers as houses we have come across, is two or more standing side by side and removing the inner walls to increase the living space. The idea has really taken off in Australia recently, particularly in rural parts where access to builders can be hard to come by or expensive.
